Every year, millions of mattresses and furniture pieces end up in landfills or incinerators, contributing to environmental waste and resource depletion. In Portugal alone, 100% of discarded mattresses are not recycled, despite containing valuable materials like polyester, foam, and metal that could be repurposed. Its estimated that around 30,000 tonnes of recyclable materials wasted annually in Portugal, equating to over €20 million worth of reusable materials lost annually. At REVIRA, we are changing this reality by pioneering sustainable recycling solutions that transform up to 80% waste into valuable, reusable resources.
Driven by EU regulations, including Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) legislation, our mission goes beyond waste reduction. We provide manufacturers and brands with consultation services to design recyclable products, ensuring compliance with sustainability directives.
